Welcome to Penluma

Penluma comes from pen + lumen — the light of the pen. Writing is how unspoken thoughts come into view: vague intuitions become precise, and precise ideas become teachable.

This site is a growing library of deep research. Unlike most write-ups online, these aren’t cheat sheets. Each topic is built to take you from plain-language intuition, to exact mechanics, to the failure modes that show up in a 3 a.m. incident or a hard interview question.

How this is organized

• Topics are bodies of work you can read like a short course.
• Posts are the individual chapters within a topic.
• Essays like this one are standalone pieces — written by hand, not generated from research notes.

This file is also a template. To publish your own independent post, drop a markdown file in platform/posts/ with frontmatter (title, topic, date, and optionally featured: true) and re-run the build. It will not be overwritten when research content regenerates.
